Kirkfield’s acrylic tapes are suitable for a wide range of applications and industries, a few of which include automotive applications, construction, rail, packaging, aerospace and even medical. Acrylic tapes provide high adhesion strength whilst also displaying excellent UV and weather resistance, thus making it a good all rounder.
Types of acrylic tapes:
- D/S Scrim – scrim reinforced tapes help with improving product dimensional stability to help reduce excessive tape elongation during lamination whilst also providing a good, long term bond.
- D/S Tissue – again, tissue tapes also help to significantly improve product stability to prevent material stretching during the lamination process. They also provide better anchorage of the product within a laminate which helps to reduce the amount of adhesive being lost.
- Transfer – a transfer tape is an unsupported adhesive film with no substrate/carrier. Transfer tapes are mainly used for laminating smooth, closed-cell or low density foams and can also be useful for applying adhesive on rough and structured surfaces.
- Filmic – Polyethylene (PE) films are typically soft with very good ageing, chemical and water resistance. PE tapes are extremely elastic and can often include UV stabilisers to help improve outdoor ageing resistance making this tape ideal for bonding indoor/outdoor membranes and barriers within buildings/construction industries.
Rolls are available in various lengths, widths and grades and can also be laminated to a various range of foams and materials. To discuss your requirements or place an order – contact us today!
